Figuring out what motivates you is a key step in finding your ideal career. Most people are CLUELESS when it comes to clearly identifying their motivators, and this is scary! Motivators = passion and passion = priorities. The bottom line - if you don’t determine your priorities based on your motivators, someone else will do it for you.
In this episode, I explain how cheesecake (yes I said cheesecake) can help teach you about your your motivators. I also give you an overview of the most practical motivation model in existence. No psycho babble or B.S. here — just a rock solid practical way to help you begin to clarify your motivators.
If you can’t tell me in 4 words what motivates you, you need to listen to this episode.

This podcast is geared toward college students, but many college graduates tune in as well for career advice. This week Jay, an IT professional, calls in for some advice about possibly making a career change. You’ll hear why Jay’s jazz factor (not to be confused with jazz hands) is currently low.
I offer him a few suggestions on how he might go about testing the waters PRIOR to making major career change.Jay shares some of his real world work experiences, including the number one thing that has helped him advance in her current career — and get this — it has nothing to do with any of his college classes. Listen to find out what it is.

This is the conclusion of the interview with Brad. If you haven’t listened to the first part of this interview, check out episode #6 before you listen to this one.
Brad shares with us how he is behaviorally wired, and describes what type of work environments are a good match for him, and what environments make him nuts. Listen and see if you and Brad share any similarities. He also describes a nearly disastrous career decision that he was able to avoid. I know for a fact that if Brad would have ended up in this one particular career, he would have been destined to experience grand amounts of misery. Thankfully he dodged this bullet — find out what it was.
Lastly, Brad announces his big reveal about where his career path has currently taken him. I won’t let the cat out of the bag here, but I will say that Brad’s current career is a PERFECT fit with his motivators and behavior/personality.
